A tense phone call with Prince William left Kate Middleton “in tears”. The incident happened long before they became husband and wife. The couple were then forced to spend the holidays apart, a situation that deeply affected Kate.
According to the book “The Making of a Royal Romance”, written by Katie Nicholl and published in 2011, Prince William allegedly promised Kate Middleton that they would spend Christmas 2006 together, but at the last minute decided to stay with his family . The change of plans was communicated to him by phone.
“William has changed his mind and has spoken to his father and grandmother to have a frank discussion about his future with Kate. They both advised him not to rush anything,” wrote Katie Nicholl in her book, The Making of a Royal Romance.
