Travis Kelce’s ego is reportedly ‘triggered’ by Taylor Swift working alongside male dancers on her Eras Tour, with the Kansas City Chiefs star suffering from ‘major pangs of jealousy’.
Swift, who has dated Kelce for the best part of a year, has been performing on her worldwide tour since March 2023, with the pop megastar heading to Scotland for the latest leg this week.
As one of the biggest artists on the planet, Taylor is often surrounded by male backup dancers on stage – which is believed to be making her beau feeling uncomfortable
According to Life and Style magazine, Kelce has become jealous seeing his girlfriend get ‘showered with attention’ by ‘hot guys’ on her Eras Tour, despite not having any concerns over her faithfulness.
‘He trusts Taylor but that doesn’t mean he’s fine seeing her surrounded by all these hot guys,’ a source is quoted as saying.
‘He’s a very macho, Alpha-male guy, his ego gets triggered pretty easily, and even if these guys don’t stand a chance with her he still has major pangs of jealousy, especially when he sees her getting showered with attention by them.’
The insider adds that Kelce’s ‘old-school mentality’ means other men are automatically considered competition, something which will always ‘get under his skin’.
The Chiefs tight end has so far enjoyed a whirlwind romance with Swift, who jetted thousands of miles to watch him in action last season.
Many are now speculating whether an engagement could be on the cards for the loved-up couple, including actor Jason Sudeikis.
Kelce played coy when Sudeikis cheekily inquired about his plans to propose to Swift at charity event ‘Big Slick Celebrity Weekend’ last Saturday, saying: ‘Hey … when are you going to make an honest woman out of her?’
The crowd at the T-Mobile Center cheered as Kelce smiled in response to the question and rubbed his face, though he didn’t offer any comment.
‘Taylor doesn’t need to be working anymore,’ Sudeikis went on, hilariously adding, ‘I know your kicker agrees with me.’
The audience loudly applauded Sudeikis’ subtle dig at Kelce’s teammate, Harrison Butker, who came under fire for suggesting female college graduates should embrace being ‘homemakers’ rather than pursuing a career.
Patrick Regan – Kelce’s barber and close friend – is also hoping to see his pal pop the question to Swift soon.
Sharing his insights on the NFL’s most high-profile couple, Regan opened up on his longtime friendship with the Kansas City legend and getting to know his girlfriend throughout last season.
But, when attempting to move on from the subject on the Day Off Podcast, he was asked: ‘When’s the wedding?’
Brushing off the all-time question, the celebrity hairstylist said: ‘Hopefully soon. That would be fun.’
