Taylor Swift rules the Billboard 200 again this week, earning yet another frame at No. 1. The singer’s latest project, The Tortured Poets Department, is steady on top of the ranking of the most-consumed albums in America, and as it holds, it earns a very special place in the superstar’s discography.
The Tortured Poets Department has now earned more consecutive stays at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 since debuting on top than any of her albums, according to the chart company itself. The set launched atop the Billboard 200 and has now held there for seven frames in a row.
Before this latest moment at No. 1, The Tortured Poets Department was tied with another one of Swift’s most beloved projects for the most frames spent atop the tally in a row, beginning with a chart-ruling debut. Last week, TTPD was matched with Folklore, as both had started at No. 1 and remained there for half a dozen turns.
This week, The Tortured Poets Department keeps at No. 1 with 148,000 equivalent units. That number is down 16% from the previous frame, according to Billboard, but it was still enough for the title to rule once more and fend off the competition.
